Comparing the five Human Design types

The five types differ in aura mechanics — how your energy meets other people — and therefore in strategy. Comparing them side by side is the fastest way to understand why one person's approach to work, rest, and decisions fails badly for someone else.

Type is the single most useful piece of information in your chart. It is not a personality label; it describes the way your aura interacts with everyone around you and, as a result, the correct way for you to engage with opportunities. Two people with identical values and skills will get very different results if one is designed to initiate and the other is designed to wait for recognition.

Choosing what to compare

If you are comparing yourself with a partner, colleague, or child, look at three things: the strategy each of you should be using, the authority each of you should be deciding with, and which centers one of you defines that the other leaves open. That last point explains most of the friction in close relationships — it is where one person consistently amplifies the other.
