Everything people usually ask when they first calculate a chart: what the system is, how accurate the birth time needs to be, what type and authority actually mean, and how long the experiment takes to show results.

• What is Human Design? A synthesis of the I Ching, astrology, the chakra system, and Kabbalah that maps how your energy makes decisions.
• Do I need my exact birth time? Yes, ideally to the minute. A few minutes can change your profile and occasionally your type.
• What if I do not know my birth time? Use your best estimate and treat profile, authority, and definition as provisional.
• Is Human Design a religion? No. It is a system to experiment with, not a belief to adopt.
• Can my chart change? No. Your bodygraph is fixed at birth; only your awareness of it changes.
• What is strategy? The correct way for your type to engage with life — initiating, responding, waiting for invitation, or waiting a lunar cycle.
• What is authority? The bodily mechanism you should decide with, determined by which centers are defined.
• How long does deconditioning take? Ra described a seven-year cycle, but most people notice sleep and energy changes within weeks.
• Do I need a professional reading? No, though a good analyst can save you months of confusion.
