Human Design compatibility and relationship charts

Compatibility in Human Design is mechanical rather than judgemental. When two charts are overlaid you get a composite, and the composite shows exactly where the connection is easy, where it is chemical, and where it will require conscious work. There is no such thing as an incompatible pair — there are only connections whose mechanics you either understand or keep tripping over.

What a composite chart shows

• Electromagnetic channels: one person has one gate, the other has its partner. This is chemistry, attraction, and the reason you feel completed by them.
• Compromise channels: one person has the full channel, the other has one gate. The half-gate person tends to give way; awareness prevents resentment.
• Dominance channels: one person has the whole channel and the other has neither gate. The energy is simply broadcast to the other person.
• Companionship channels: both people have the same full channel. Comfortable, familiar, and sometimes a little static.
• Open centers meeting defined centers: the most common source of conditioning inside a relationship.

Type combinations

Any type pairing can work. What matters is whether each person is running their own strategy: a Generator waiting to respond alongside a Manifestor who informs will be far more peaceful than two people copying each other's approach. Projector and Generator pairings are common and work well when the Projector is genuinely invited rather than volunteering guidance.

Using compatibility well

Read the composite as a map of where to be patient, not as a verdict. The most useful question is not 'are we compatible?' but 'which of our friction points is mechanical rather than personal?' Most of them are.
